I hope you had a great week and are enjoying the sunny cool BJ weather.
A. Classes Changes:
I was told on Mon that in order to qualify for the donation from the US Embassy, BNVS will need to re-group students into five classes. Apparently the US fund can only apply to students aged 18 and under.
Starting this Sat, the school will group 60 students who are 18 and under into Class A,B,C (with 20 students each). The remaining 30 older students into Class D. We also have a new group of 17 nursing students who will join the English program for the next 30 days. They will be in Class E.
The school suggests that I will teach Class A, Vincent - B, Molly & Isabelle - C, Stephan - D, and Gina & Mari - E, if this is alright with all of us. The school will do some adjustments after the nursing students leave us.
Please let me know your feedback. We can also talk about this at 8.30 this Sat
B. Nov 24 Class:
The themes are Food and Thanksgiving. We have a lot to cover this week. The teaching materials are in the attached PowerPoint. Please review and comment.
We will have two representatives from the US Embassy visiting us this Sat. They will address the school at 10am. And they will most likely visit individual classes.
The school is hosting a Thanksgiving Lunch for all the students (all 107 of them) and all the volunteers. I was told there will be TURKEYS. The school wants to put on a show to celebrate Thanksgiving. It suggests Class A to do a 'Recitation of Thanksgiving Wishes', Class B to compose ' Thanksgiving Wishes' written on index cards and dedicate them to someone special, Class C to sing a song (preferably Thanksgiving related), Class D and Class E to make Thanksgiving salad.
Once again, we can talk more about it this Sat before class.
