Hi all,

I have been trying to resolve a backup problem for over a month now
using the HP Omniback software, and I needs some help.

We have been using Omniback on one busy Server (750) (a cluster server with
24 c-nodes) running hp-ux 9.01 for some time without problem. It backs up
a series of 6 disk towers.

We have since bought another cluster server (755) and installed hp-ux 9.03
and would like to backup half the disk towers of the old server (ie have
each server backup 3 of the disk towers).

This worked when I tested it on the weekend (when at the time I had no
c-nodes attached). But since then Ihave been getting failures on the new
server (755), with error:

[Warning] tcp connect failed, tcp disabled : Connection timed out
[Warning] tcp connect failed, tcp disabled : Connection timed out
[Warning] tcp connect failed, tcp disabled : Connection timed out
[Error] tcp write failed, can't re-establish connection : Interrupted
system call
[Error] Netio process terminated.

** Backup Failed

I have been onto HP, and we have tried rescheduling the backups at various
times, and have applied an Omniback patch, and two LAN patches, but we still
get the errors. (occasionally maybe 1 out of 3 towers is successful).

Any Help or advice?

HP seemed stumped, and so am I !

Cheers

Tom.
