Team:

Nexus 3000/9000 software engineering team is part of Insieme BU, Bangalore. This team has full ownership of the product line and is a key part of Cisco’s Data Center strategy. As member of this 

team you will get to work on different aspects of the platform software like L2/L3 forwarding and technologies like vPC, VxLAN, MPLS etc. In addition, there is also opportunity for BIOS, board 

bringup and device drivers. The candidate we are looking for must share a passion for tackling complex problems and take great pride in his/her software design and programming ability. Open 

communications, empowerment, innovation, teamwork and customer success are the foundations of the team.


Role & Responsibilities:

. Participate on a project team of engineers involved in the development of software for Nexus 3K/Nexus 9K product family, with emphasis in Layer-2 and Layer-3 protocol/forwarding infrastructure. 
. Design and develop system software for the next generation Data center networking product.
. Comprehend newer, complex data-center customer requirements and translating to engineering features. Complete functional and design specifications for those features independently.
. Lead development of systems. Develop large portions of software independently and rapidly with quality.
. Integrate and troubleshoot component level as well as system level issues for successful completion of product and software releases with aggressive timelines.


Minimum Requirement: 

. B.E/B.Tech/M.E./M.Tech/M.S. from reputed university with 2-15 years of experience in networking software development. 
. Excellent C programming skills.
. Experience in Linux-based operating systems.

Desired Skills:

. Prior experience on L2 Protocols like STP/RSTP/LACP/CDP/TRILL etc. or Layer-3 Features like BGP,OSPF,HSRP,VRRP,PIM,VXLAN etc. is a plus.
. Experience working on merchant silicon / custom ASICs & associated drivers/SDK is a plus.
. Expertise in linux system programming and concepts of DMA, I/O management, interrupts, bus architectures like PCIe, i2c is a plus.
. Proficiency in Linux kernel is a plus.
