I don’t know how the whole Covid situation has affected you.
I’ve seen people who are loving the time at home, rekindling new hobbies and enjoying extra time with their families.
I’ve seen people who are scared, lonely and depressed, isolated from loved ones and fearful for their lives.
Some people have lost family members, businesses and jobs.
Others seem to be navigating the situation with some success.
Although we’re all in this storm together - we’re all sailing in different boats.
There is one big positive that I have noticed over the last couple of months.
This challenging situation has reignited the British sense of community. We’re pulling together, helping each other out and finding new ways to offer support to our neighbours, family and friends.
From the Thursday night NHS applause to the 700,000 people that signed up as lockdown volunteers.
There’s the 100 year old Captain Tom, who raised over £20 million pounds for the NHS by walking around his garden with a zimmer frame just days before his 100th birthday.
There’s the hotels opening their doors to the homeless and the kids who have been writing to the isolated elderly.
The general mood of the whole country has changed.
Strangers now greet each other in the street and more and more people are getting involved in supporting their local communities, picking up groceries and helping those in need.
Here at KAT security, we’re doing our bit too.
