My first car was an old Mini Cooper.
I loved that car.
It wasn’t perfect. It had a few dinks in the bodywork, it made an odd clicking noise when you sat in idle and opening the passenger window was a two-man job.
But I kept that car running and we had some incredible adventures.
It kept me safe and delivered me to my destination for many, many years.

I checked and replenished the oil regularly. I pumped up my tyres and replaced them when they looked worn. I checked the brakes, topped up the antifreeze and even kept the windscreen wash full.
But most importantly, I got it serviced every single year.
