Dear BNI Southend, Clair and Anna,

I am writing to let you all know that I am leaving BNI at the end of my membership term so tomorrow will be my last meeting.  Many of you know this already but I haven't had an opportunity to tell you all and I didn't want to do an announcement tomorrow so I am writing instead.

It has been an exceptionally hard decision as BNI has been very successful for me in terms of the referrals and ongoing work that it has enabled me to generate for my company but more than that I have made some great friends.  I have been a member for three years and I have loved every minute of my journey. As I said, I have made some wonderful friends and have really enjoyed being part of such a great group and of the wider net of BNI in my role as an Ambassador.  I will miss you all on a Friday morning but hope that my leaving won't impact on the friendships I have made. I will continue to refer you all and will stay in touch.

I am leaving as I have too many balls in the air at the moment with personal and work and something needed to give.  However, I do believe in BNI and know it works so would be happy to assist you in finding a VA for my chair and in telling them how wonderful it can be.

See you all in the morning.

Kind Regards,

Nicky Somers

Hi all,

I email you all as a Chapter, to inform you that with a lot of thought, and with great regret, and I have decided to stand down as an Essex DC this week, and as my current yearly membership comes to an end, with a heavy heart,  I am also stepping down as a member of BNI Southend at the end of this month. (My last meeting being 25th Sept).

My reasons for these decisions are that following yet another demanding and busy year, with both my family time limited and business commitments rising, I am finding it continuously difficult to find the perfect work-life balance, leaving me constantly exhausted and running on a very low battery most of the time, And therefore I am finding it a real struggle to be a great Chapter member and a full on supporting DC.  - Those who know me well, understand that I have always given more than 200% to all I do, and do not wish to do the job with anything less, as I continue to focus on the needs of my family and the growth of my business K Barbers Emporium.

I have enjoyed my time and roles immensely over the past years, I have had a full on time, and have been an active Ed’ coordinator (twice!), a part of the membership committee and a very proud and driven Chapter Director alongside a great supporting team and Chapter.

And recently, a busy DC in launching a new Rayleigh Chapter, plus supporting 2 other chapters, whilst still remaining a sturdy and always a proactive member at BNI Southend.

As a DC, I enjoyed Presented both many MSP’s and the CDT training days, and privileged to learn how BNI works for us all at the next level, participated with many education ‘bites’ and being part of the fun had in many Chapters, and attended many great meetings.

The Essex DC team have been wonderful in supporting my decision, and have even offered the option to return to this role upon any return to BNI in the future.

As for Southend, I couldn’t be a prouder member, you are the best collective of people in business, and I will miss my weekly meetings with you all immensely, as I have not missed more than a couple in the 3-4 years past, had many laughs and some great memories to take with me, and made many good lifelong friends.

Last Saturday, at the excellent ‘Skamite (Dave Allen) bash’, being with you all outside of BNI at the social, really drove home, how wonderful a group of people we have brought together, all of us friends and business associates.

I have been so privileged to be part of our wonderful Chapter for nearly 4 years. - God, it’s gone so quick! And if I should return to BNI in the future, I hope you would consider having me back in the Chapter.

I have found you all to have been wonderfully warming and supportive of me in every way, and I hope that I have always been a positive contributor and made a real difference to the Chapter in the time I have been honoured to be part of Southend BNI.

I wish to keep in touch with you all, and will hopefully see many of you still in the coming months ahead, following my imminent departure.

Keep working hard, fully support one another and the new Leadership Team and their new ideas come October, and build that Chapter for you all, nail your ‘business boost event’ and take it past 40+ and then take on the world between you!

I have spoken to Clair Trebes our DC, and both our current and incoming CD’s- Helen and Vicky today, regarding my decision and I will, of course, still be pushing BNI Southend to the full, and as many good business referrals and visitors to you all without a doubt.

A huge ‘Thank you’ to you all again, and I hope you can still remain loyal clients, of myself and the K team, and always feel both confident and happy to refer us still in the future.

Please feel free also to pop in to see me if you are in Leigh Broadway, and share a cuppa and a catch up at any time. J

Keep me in the loop, and please, if you are planning any socials, as I would love to come along and take part in the fun still, if you would have me x

I’ll get things right again, and I have no doubt that ‘the K way’ will be back, rebooted and far stronger than ever J

Much ‘K Love to you all…looking forward to seeing you all Friday x

My Kindest regards and very best wishes

Hi Nicky,

Thanks for this email J You really have been a fantastic member and it’s been great working with you on the Amb/DC team too!

I will be sad to see you go, but can completely understand your reasons with the business.

I will see you tomorrow morning as I’m attending.

Thanks

Clair
