Everyone,

As many of you may know, the Employee Free Choice Act (EFCA) was introduced to the House of Representatives (HR 1409) and the Senate (S 560)  on March 10, 2009.  There are many out there that think that this act will pass through this time with President Obama in the White House.  As a company, what steps have you taken or will take in order to communicate this to your employees?  To what level will this communication go?  Will this go to just management or to the front line employees?  What steps have you taken, either as an HR professional or behalf of your company, to communicate your opinion to your respective legislation?

Please help with this discussion as I know all of us are preparing for it!

Thanks!

I have emailed the legislative leaders from Illinois on the bill and
have also notified the business owners and upper level managment of
this and other pending legislation, such as required paid sick leave.

Thanks,

Marilyn

I emailed the legislators through the SHRM website which didn't take
very long at all. I also plan on sending a letter to them as well.
As far as communication goes, we are strategically planning some
training for senior level management and above on possible action
plans.
