Hi team,

Sorry I don't have a lot of diagnostics for you (I wasn't running the open files plugin), but I did notice since the last Bndtools dev update (5.1.0.DEV-202003122022-gea6b9b1) those file locking/building issues seem to have returned. I just opened Ecilpse and it started trying to build the workspace, and I got the infamous "Build error!" on a number of projects. I have attached a logfile extract from Eclipse which has some stack traces that might aid in debugging. There are a number of them but it seems they come in two varieties.

Blessings
Fr Jeremy

Bad news. Could you run it with the file leak detected? The log you sent is all from the same place. You see there are two variations but as far as I can see they all originate from the build, in the safeBuild method?

I looked in the change log but the only things changed in the last week are build related it seems, nothing that runs inside Eclipse.

I'll try and rerun with file leak detector tomorrow.

I've installed the file leak detector but so far have not been able to reproduce the problem while the leak detector is running to get a snapshot of open files. I'll keep an eye on it and let you know if I find something.

Blessings,

The errors you showed were about another process that held the file open. Might be a wrong message, and the lock is actually kept open by the same process, but it could also mean some other process was filling around?

Kind regards,
