I have a previously-written eclipse plugin that provides a proto3 file editor.  Rather than require users to install it separately, I would like to have it installed as part of the creation of a bndtools workspace from a workspace template of my creation.  Is there anything to support this in bndtools?...i.e. installing an eclipse feature (via p2) during workspace creation?

My expectation is no, but wanted to check.

Thanks,

Scott

Hi Scott,

I pray you are well.

Unfortunately, there is nothing in Bndtools at the moment. The templates are entirely declarative. But you're not the first to ask something like this, and given that you've actually written a plugin of your own you probably have more skills than most to add this feature to Bndtools... PRs welcome! ;)

Blessings,
Fr Jeremy

Hey Scott,

This use-case sounds like something a crafted Oomph model could do for you (install Bndtools, Proto file editor features, clone a git repo that has Bnd workspace + your Bndtools templates).  I don't have any experience with authoring a Oomph model, but I have consumed Egit/Jgit Oomphs models in the past and found them very beneficial.
