Hi all,
I've been using bndtools for the last 5 or so years. Thanks for all the great work you all do.

I recently came across a project from Eclipse called "Che" which is a whole web based IDE.
https://www.eclipse.org/che/

It's a pretty neat system and seems to have a really fast growing community with lots of backers. I'm not affiliated.

My question to you all is have you taken a look at whether bndtools capabilities could be adapted to that system.

From what I can tell it does support plugins both server and client side.

Could be really nice to be able to launch a developer into a fully configured osgi cloud hosted development environment.

Obviously it's probably no small task, but I wanted to share the idea and was curious on your thoughts.

Fyi, there's a free hosted version on openshift to play with it.
https://openshift.io/

Thanks
Zach

I don't know enough about Che to know how, or in what language, one develops IDE extensions. Che is a browser-based IDE, so I suspect that means that IDE extensions are written in JavaScript. All of Bnd is currently in Java. So I have no idea what of Bnd can be used in Che without rewriting.

I contacted someone on the team and waiting for his reply. I need to know a bit more how it works.

I think it should not be too hard to make things build, the hard part is always the GUI parts.

Kind regards,
