R Nine T Can bus

Hi all.

I own a BMW R Nine T Urban G/S that, unfortunately, has a very poor instrumentation.

So I want to build my own instrumentation by sniffing the required info on can bus.

There is no reference in the spreadsheet about my bike, anyway some data seems to match. 

Currently I just need RPM, gear and fuel level (these are not present in the standard instrumentation....). Ok for RPM and gear, but the fuel definitely I cannot find!!!

Does anyone have some experience on it?

It's just trial and error!

Just filter the id one by one and try it.

Have a look at ID 2D0 Byte 3

accordind to my findings most of the R1200GS(K25) signals are same on R9T.

Unfortunately the D3 on ID 2D0 is always at zero :(. 

The D0 is changing and, according to the spreadsheet, it should be the fuel too. The problem is that it seems that its change is not related with the fuel level!! Or at least not in a straightforward way..! Now the tank is nearly empty, I will do a new capture, than I'll fill it completely and perform another capture..I hope to find some information from the comparison.

Moreover the right formula of the RPM is that of the S1000R(K47) while the one of R1200GS(K25) is wrong. So maybe that the R9T has more similarities in software with the S1000R ?!

Finding this forum and spreadsheet looks like a godsend. I was starting to look at forking http://fr3ts0n.github.io/AndrOBD/ and researching what the bmw protocol looked like and found this forum.

I have a 2021 r nine t urban gs with a good quality elm327 Bluetooth adapter. I use motoscan for service, fault reading etc..but wanted to see a continuous display of oil temp etc.. and do data logging..

 Not wanting to reinvent the wheel is anyone aware of an open source project that has done this for android?

Key in  data bit have High nibble(b0->b4), Low nibble (b4->b7)! What is High nibble, Low nibble? How it to work?
