Hello,

I'm building a data logger based on the Raspberry Pi (https://motoreco.net/), which has a GPS connected to it, so I imagine it could work with the lap timer on the meter, if Raspberry Pi sends the CAN data properly based on the GPS information.

Does anyone know the CAN data information for the lap timer on the S1000RR?

Hi, does anybody know the CAN BUS Data that are used for this? Is it possible to use the High Light Message On / Off for this? With this you can trigger manually the Laptimer.
Or is there any other channel to use with the data logger messages?

Thanks

Hey Christoph and Schwarz

I am currently in the starting stages of creating my own GPS lap trigger for the on-dash timer operation. I have written simple code in python that triggers an event every time the device crosses a GNSS line in space (aka finish line)
I currently have two implementation theories. First is straight out of Redneck Engineering & Co where I splice into the High Beam Pass and connect the wires as if I pulled the trigger myself using a relay
Second is using the High Beam Pass Message on/off - I stumbled upon your discussion from a couple of years a go but no replies

Have you both solved the issue?

Thank you

hi all, I'm successfully using the high-beam on my R1250RT by subscribing to the CANBUS message and controlling my garage door remote (via ESP32)... so it's definitely doable.

Assuming the CANBUS message on the S1000RR is the same [S1000R (K47)(2018) is listed], look at Message ID 0x2A0, byte D2, with a bitmask of 0b00000010.

Regards, Rob.
