Hey hackers,

Partially inspired by Bryan's latest screencast (worth a watch: http://smartic.us/2010/02/04/using-your-mac-without-the-mouse/ ), I spent a good deal of time this past weekend improving my development environment.  screen, shell customization, various dotfiles, etc.  I think it would be a great idea to get together with the sole purpose of showing off how we each pimp our development environments.  It would be an excellent opportunity for folks who haven't really gone down this route before to get a glimpse of what's possible.  I find what often holds most people back is that they don't even realize how they can improve their development experience.  My own selfish reason for trying to organize a meetup like this is to essentially take all of the goodies you guys have to offer.

The great part about this is it would definitely be a language-agnostic session (though I'll be happy to show off some of the goodies from my .irbrc and .gemrc for any interested rubyists).

Who would be interested in such a session?  And would Monday, 2/22 from 6:30 - 9:00 at ETC Canton work out for you?

I'd be interested in getting together for this. I would consider myself to be in the group which hasn't done much customization, and this could be a great jumpstart.

2/22 6:30-9:00 would be fine for me.

I am interested and will most likely be in baltimore. I also have not
gone crazy with dev environment optimizations.

Nice, this meeting is definitely on. I just sent out emails to both
the DC and Baltimore ruby user groups. Feel free to spread the word
to other (non-Ruby) user groups. This meeting will have very little
to do with specific languages (I'll show off my .irbrc and .gemrc for
those interested, but those won't be the focus).
