Just a curios fellow that found this on the google maps.
The octagon feature is actually a fence, about 6 foot tall.
There are three structures in the middle of the octagon. Directly
center, if you zoom in on the google aerial photo, you can see that a
rectangular section of the land is either overgrown or covered up.
When driving past the west side of the structure, there is a road that
enters into the octagon area. It is fenced off at the road, with a
sign that says No Tresspassing. Violators will be prosecuted.
If you zoom out a bit, you will notice that it is directly south of the
old Richards Gebaur Airport field.
Rumor has it that it is owned by the DOD (Department of Defense).
There is a fairly new two story house in the upper right hand corner of
the property. Rumor also has it that the owner who built the house,
didn't follow structure zoning code. Because of it's height, the owner
was sued by the DOD, and is not able to occupy the house now. It is
boarded up, and grass has overgrown.
And last but not least of my rumors, there was an article run several
years ago by the Belton Paper, stating that they were going to use this
property for Blackhawk helicopter training.
Does anyone have any history about what this was used for, who really
owns it, and could it possibly be a secret government coverup for a UFO
landing site?????? :)
