Hi
We are looking for wildlife enthusiast, experts and recorders all over the UK to help us engage the public in our search for 2,012 British wildlife species. We have ticked off 847 species so far with help from 1000’s of members of the public across the UK.
The Meet the Species team are holding several events throughout the summer and over 100 accredited events are recording everything they find that crawls, swims and flies to help tick off the list. You can view all the accredited Meet the Species events happening across the UK on our website:
Meet the Species website If you are holding a public wildlife surveying event this year you can accredited yours as a Meet the Species event and contribute your records from the event to help tick off our list. Meet the Species is part of Discovering Places the London 2012 Cultural Olympiad Campaign to inspire the UK to discover their local environment and by accrediting your event you will receive a free resource pack to help you tap into our national PR around the project.
Any wildlife surveying event can join the race and we are especially keen to get events where you are likely to be recording any of these taxa: mosses and liverworts, algae and coastal wildlife, worms, fish,
crustaceans, moths, beetles, true bugs, spiders, molluscs, fungi and flies.
Please check out the attached eflyer, call our HQ on 0117 317 8751 or email
sa...@bnhc.org.uk for more information or go ahead and register your event online
here.
Thank you,
Sarah
