FEATURING MALCOLM JOHNSON
Malcolm Johnson

Malcolm Johnson is the founder and CEO of Langdon Park Capital, a real estate investment manager focused on creating lasting social impact in historically underserved Black and Latino communities. Johnson directs the firm’s overall strategy and operations. 

Prior to founding Langdon Park Capital, Johnson was a director in JPMorgan’s Commercial Real Estate group. Johnson joined JPMorgan in 2012 as the senior coverage banker in the firm’s Real Estate Banking group in Los Angeles, where he underwrote and arranged $3 billion in debt financing for institutional real estate developers and investment firms. From 2006—2012, Johnson was a vice president in the Commercial Real Estate Banking group at Bank of America Merrill Lynch. Prior to his banking career, Johnson played professional football with the Cincinnati Bengals, New York Jets and Pittsburgh Steelers from 1999—2003. 

Johnson serves on the Advisory Board for the Fitzgerald Institute for Real Estate at the University of Notre Dame, the Board of Trustees for the Marlborough School and the Corporate Advisory Board for The Brotherhood Crusade, a non-profit organization supporting low-income South Los Angeles residents. Johnson received his Master’s in Business Administration from the Tepper School of Business at Carnegie Mellon University and his Bachelor’s of Business Administration from the University of Notre Dame Mendoza College of Business.

Chris Merrill is a Notre Dame MBA alumnus and former high school educator. He is driven to improve the $1 trillion adverse effect of lagging math proficiency in American students.

Company:  Adapta Education is an ed-tech startup founded by Dr. Alison Cheng at the University of Notre Dame. Adapta's AI system gives high school math teachers the data and tools to helps students succeed.

Chad Mastagh: Rides2U

Chad Mastagh is a decorated South Bend firefighter with over two decades of service. He has been in rideshare for five years, with thousands of hours of experience and an extensive knowledge of the industry.

Company: Rides2U is a ride share startup founded in South Bend in 2021. Rides2U solves the problem of unsafe and unreliable rideshare by hiring experienced, hand-selected drivers and offering guaranteed reservations.

Joshua Rodgers: Mili Llama

Joshua Rodgers brings a deep background in sales and management, and is an Executive MBA candidate at the University of Notre Dame. Donavan Bennett is an experienced project manager with first-hand understanding of the substitute teaching problem. Josh and Donavan are both veterans and graduated together from the Citadel in 2013.

Company: Launched in 2023, Mili Llama is on a mission to solve the substitute teacher shortage by connecting college students with K-12 schools through technology, training and a user friendly platform.
