Dear Sir / Madam,

The study of Environmental Science promotes the development of problem-solving skills. Working in the field of environmental science provides a wide variety of subjects and problems to challenge and expand our skills, as well as the satisfaction of knowing we are helping to improve the quality of our lives and of the planet. To understand the present and emerging environmental problems we need to integrate ideas and skills from various disciplines. However, environmental studies are rapidly developing field and it is not always clear which ideas and skills need to be integrated to address an emerging issue. Environmental studies are an exciting but challenging field of study, but there are not established, authoritative texts. In the absence of a "received body of knowledge" we believe that it is important for us to learn how to make our own way.

The faculties of Computing Sciences (CSE, IT), Electrical Sciences (ECE, EEE, BME), Mechanical Sciences (Aero, Auto, Mech, Civil), Biotechnology along with Chemistry and Physics departments are organizing this National Symposium on Environmental Science and Engineering – Friendly Earth on 11th October 2011 at our college campus.  The symposium would focus on the current and future technologies available to mitigate environmental pollution and ignite young engineers to come out with new viable and cost effective technologies to enable us to live in a healthier environment.  The aim is presenting and discussing recent trends, development activities and future directions so that our faculty and students could take up research and innovative projects on Environmental engineering combining all disciplines.

We request you to encourage your faculty and students to submit technical papers / models on the topics listed in the brochure. Attractive prizes will be offered for best papers (oral), posters and models. The brochure is attached with this mail.
