Hello BMB'ers!
With Labor Day weekend upon us, it's hard to believe we're already wrapping up another summer!
- Thank you to everyone who attended, and especially to the volunteers, and made the 2025 MTBA Regional 900 tournament a huge success!
- With strong participation by so many BMB members, we're now just a few points behind King's Mountain (KMA) for the MTBA Club of the Year.
Even with summer ending, there's lots happening in September in the local archery scene; here are your updates for the coming month:
- Our monthly range maintenance Work Party takes place on Saturday, September 6. We need your help to take care of the range that we all enjoy, so please try to come out!
- Work starts around 8 AM (late arrivals okay); come find us in the clubhouse/picnic area by the main parking. BMB members and non-members are welcome and appreciated!
- Dress as if for yard work, make sure you've got plenty of sunblock and water, and bring work/gardening gloves if you have them.
- To thank our volunteers, we'll be serving lunch and refreshments when work activities wrap up.
- All parts of the range will be closed to shooting, and will reopen no earlier than 2 PM.
- Looking to log volunteer hours? Sign up via the Santa Clara County volunteering site.
- There will no Club Shoot this month, as BMB will be hosting the State 900 tournament shoots on that weekend. Club shoots will resume next month with our final outdoor-style (900) shoot of the year.
- Registration is still open for the California Bowmen Hunters (CBH-SAA) State 900 tournament, taking place in mid-September at various locations around the state, including at BMB on September 13-14.
- As with the Regional 900, you can register to shoot on Saturday or Sunday, or both if shooting in two different equipment divisions.
- Entry fees (per day) are $43.85 for adults, $22.55 for youth and cubs.
- We need volunteers to help us with pre-event setup (putting up targets, lining the lot) the Friday before the State 900. Thanks to the efforts of just a few volunteers, we were able to set up the MTBA 900 ahead of time, which really made the event run smoothly.
- Registration will shortly open for the MTBA Indoor 450 Tournament in November. Registration will be required to reserve your shooting time slot (choose from various dates and times across four different locations in the Bay Area).
- Participate to earn points to help BMB win MTBA Club of the Year!
- Watch the MTBA website for more information about registration; we'll also send out announcements when registration opens.
- BMB jerseys: jerseys can still be ordered through YoungSpeeds (now GNB). Note that it may be some time before enough orders accumulate to meet the minimum batch size for fulfillment.
- If you ordered your jersey in July (or earlier) and still haven't picked it up, please get in touch with us so that we can get you your jersey.
- We still need materials to use to build and maintain things around the range. If you have leftover, salvaged, or unused construction materials such as lumber, plywood, metal, and hardware, please get in touch with us (or just drop it off and we'll figure it out)!
- We also need large clean pieces of cardboard for target faces; feel free to drop those off next to the club trailer or behind the food serving counter in the picnic area.
That's all for now; here's looking forward to cooler weather as autumn rolls in...
See you at the range!
- The BMB Directors
