Hi everyone! As we roll into the second month of the year, we hope everyone is enjoying the favorable weather we've had as of late, and that you've been able to take advantage of it to get out and shoot some arrows.
2026 MEMBERSHIP APPLICATIONS AND RENEWALSThank you to all of you who've renewed or joined BMB for 2026 so far! Your membership fees fund the club's facilities and activities and make it possible for us to operate and maintain the range that we all enjoy. If you haven't re-upped yet for this year, make your way over to the Membership page and sign up when you have the chance. Again, thank you!
UPDATESHere's what's going on at BMB this month:
- Our monthly range maintenance Work Party is happening on Saturday, February 7. Please come out, help out with a bit of maintenance and give the range of a bit of TLC. After all the rainy weather we've got a bit of catching up to do on upkeep, and we're eager to deploy some of our new high-density bales to targets that badly need them.
- Work starts around 8 AM (late arrivals okay); come find us in the clubhouse/picnic area by the main parking. Both BMB members and non-members are welcome!
- Dress as if for yard work, and bring work/gardening gloves if you have them.
- To thank our volunteers, we'll be serving lunch and refreshments when work activities wrap up.
- All parts of the range will be closed to shooting, and will reopen no earlier than 2 PM.
- Looking to log volunteer hours? Sign up via the Santa Clara County volunteering site.
- The February Club Shoot will be held the following Sunday, February 8. To help archers practice for upcoming indoor competitions, the format will be an indoor-style double 300 round:
- Archers will shoot two rounds, each round 10 ends of 3 arrows, at 20 yards (18m), on individual 40cm targets (60cm for cub archers), with a 15 minute break in between the rounds. Those shooting 40cm targets may choose between a 10-ring target and a 3-spot target. Archers will have 2 ends of practice prior to the official shoot. Target assignments will be posted the morning of the event at the range. Archers will be grouped by division according to NFAA rules.
- As usual, the shoot is free for current BMB members, $10 for guests.
- Walk-ons are welcome, though we do appreciate those who help us plan ahead by preregistering.
- Setup begins around 8am, and we aim to start shooting around 9am.
- Pre-registration is open for the first regional tournament of the year, the MTBA Regional Marked 3D Tournament, happening on Sunday, March 15 at Salinas Bowmen.
- Learn more about the event by checking out the event flyer.
- Pre-register to reserve your spot for the event by filling out the online form.
That's all we've got for this month, but stay tuned for more news about upcoming events this year!
