That was a quick response! She says she doesn't know and I couldn't find that detail on the website she pointed. See if you guys find anything on that link. 16:9 is becoming more common but that's if it's new equipment. I don't know how old this projector is. It does have HDMI input so may be new. 

Let's see how your image looks in both ratios today and we can then decide if it's worth the risk, cause I'd be very disappointed if my text looked compressed...
