Pull vs Push

Did anyone finally get the distinction? I am pretty confused...online resources in fact seem to contradict the distinctions Prof.Anderson made in class: http://smallbusiness.chron.com/push-system-vs-pull-system-inventory-control-12650.html

I did not get that distinction during class and am still struggling with it. My plan is to put the final nail in the Dyer assignment this evening then go after Anderson. I might be hitting you up on this one later this week. If I figure anything out ill keep you posted.
