Oh, and there was this one from a guy a while back.... he did some crazy mockups..
this was when I had "overview mode", which was crap.

Hi there.

I just stumbled over Bluetunes today while searching for a new mp3player.

After some testing, and crashing – I very much liked it. Its running right now.

First of all I just wanted to tell you that: You have build a very charming tool there.

Thank you!

I'm not shure how much feedback you get for projects like that.

If its too much just put my comment on the heap :)

If people appreciate a very young project, they tend to fall into a mantra of suggestions,

wishes or criticizm. Please take it a sign of affinity, when I propose some ideas that came

to me wile playing with BlueTunes:

Graphics:

  1. It would be great to have the possibilty to select my own texture for your field of grass.

I would prefer a plain color / or soft gradient way more than a ‚realistic' texture. You put the texture inside your .exe,

why not take it to the outside, where users can modify it to their liking?

Interface:

1.       The mouse commands in overview mode feel strange/ why cripple overview mode? make it fully functional:

First i simply was disoriented when entering overview mode, then i wondered about the new mouse commands,

at last i missed the possibility to select an album.

I'd  recommend the following layout for both views, so that you just learn one set for your mouse functionality.

Ill base that on a three button wheel mouse, cause its simply the most common

a) right mouse button – change between normal view (like now) and overview mode back and forth

      b) scrool wheel – scroll upwards and downwards in normal mode (like now) and in overview mode (instead of moving mouse up and down)

b2) same for left/right if scroll wheel was pressed (button3)

      c) left mouse button – select album again in normal mode (like now) and in overview mode (not jet possible)

so hey - wheres my Zoom functionality?

      d) press right and left mousebuttons simultaneously, move mouse up / down in normal mode and overview mode to zoom in/out

(i think it was world of warcraft using this set, does not feel uncommon)

this way you could also offer a normal view zoom in/out any time and control both views with exactly the same Mouse commands,

what i think is important for learning curve / usability. Plus you got the most fuctions already coded (mouse moving up/down query)

2.        New fuctionality – mouse jump/alternative scrolling

just an unimportant idea

if left clicking in normal view/ overview mode and not hitting an album, center view on hit row

3.        New setting – scroll wheel sensitivity:

just an unimportant idea

It would be nice to make the scroll wheel sensititviy adjustable. actually the keyboard is way faster than the mouse

Features:

  1. ok a feature wish :)

I really didnt want to but had to make a feature wish

When i have selected my albums to play, kicked out the songs i dislike – for example for a nice dinner with jazz – please let me save this in any way

so i can use this set again.

Bugs:

youre aware its crashing when closing :) – something seems to malfuction in the search algorithm – when typing names of groups or CDs BlueTunes is

showing in the display (so BT found and listed them) he often gets no result in the search (showing an empty screen)

Thank you again for taking the time to program such a nice thing as Bluetunes.

Greetings from Bonn (germany)
