hi tom :)

thank you for your quick and elaborate reply.

Im happy that my suggestions found such a positive echo

and hopefully understood you right, that youre asking for more input.

Im sorry i cannot provide you with any programming skills from my

side, but ill do what i can, to help improving your great project to

achieve even greater graphics and improve on your already ingenious

user interface.

Cause i use photoshop a lot, i'd like to offer some help with in-program-graphics too.

So if you need someone to prepare buttons, color schemes or whatever, to be designed and

prepared  for implementation - please tell me.

I made another little 'mockup' BlueTunes picture during my free time

today. This time i tried to focus on little stylistic details and the implementation

of some features i understood youre actually working on.

If youre interested i can send you a Photoshop .psd where you have all the graphics

ready to export them to .gif ...

1. Shuffle/Repeat Buttons:

For a more plain user interface i just turned the Shuffle on/off and the

Repeat on/off buttons for 90° and matching the height of the 'clear' button.

Additionally i adjusted the size of their background. I believe its looking a

bit more clean now.

2. Shuffle/Repeat Buttons background:

Blue + Red gave this Shade of violet, that didnt match the other used colours,

so i changed them to one of the existing blue tones.

3. next row button:

just made it more simple and therefore more pleasing

4.  right menu Status information:

Just added a status info into the actually unused colour field on the other side.

5. Volume control Button:

I tried to match the Volume Control Button with the style of the play/pause,

forward and backward buttons, by giving it a round shape.

6. Album information Display:

Without the album covers you have a lot of white in your window. Especially when

opening the album information diplay (with the track list, playing times, cover etc.)

So i gave it a light colour to make it less harsh for you to look at.

you cant do very much there, whats sad, because it would be a great place to

access your album/mp3-file properties. I therefore incorporated a left-click menu (as used in

3dsmax for example) where you can access the most important commands.

7. left-click menues:

Album/Cover:

    - rename/move:

Some of the interpretes werent understood correctly by BlueTunes

(De Phazz albums are Artist: De Name: Phazz - ...). Id like the Idea to

to make changes to album information/location directly from here.

    - load cover:

Cause i already have a lot of album covers in another place of my harddrive (for

printing purposes), i wished for a load cover function that simply copies the image

to the album directory and takes it into the database.

    - ID3 Tags

input album wide ID3 Tag edition, for the things like Album name, Genre etc from here :)

Bluetunes could also sort by genre sometimes

    - vote:

give your album a vote. Especially interesting if you try to find music for your own taste

within other peoples collections. people that like the same albums as much as you do

are more likely to have other things that interest you (this mechanism made www.music-map.de

a great site to find stylistic related artists). This could be a great tool to evaluate the relevance

of other peoples collections for you, once youre able to connect.

Song:

mostly the same as the above just with the focus on editing your collections data.

8. About info, menu:

actually theres no possibility to check on the actual version of BlueTunes,

or where to find the official homepage of the project.

So thats it for today, I hope there is the one or other point you could find helpful.

with best regards,

TreBar
