Bluemont Civic Association (BCA) Members:
Time for Renewal The newsletter was mailed on Saturday and should arrive in your mailbox on Monday or Tuesday at the very latest. If you do not receive a newsletter by mail, then your dues may have lapsed. Please contact Treasurer Judy Collins at jc.s...@verizon.net to clarify your membership status. If you do receive a newsletter, please check the mailing label to determine your membership’s expiration date. Most memberships will expire in December 2009, and if this applies to you, you will need to renew your membership.
This Wednesday: Nov. 18 BCA Meeting The membership will meet Wednesday, 11/18, 7:30 pm, at Arlington Traditional School (ATS) on N. Edison Street. (Note: There will be no meeting on 11/25.)
Arlington County staff member and Virginia Tech graduate student Jane Kim has agreed to work with BCA on the Bluemont Village concept through the early spring of 2010 as part of her capstone project for graduate school. Kim participated in a walking tour of the Wilson Boulevard commercial area with members of the Bluemont Village Center Working Group on Sunday, 11/8/09. Kim will present her initial thoughts and discuss the process at Wednesday’s meeting.
Paul Ducharme, a resident of the Carlisle Park townhouse development, will present a negotiated list of conditions under which the community would agree to allow D&V Auto Service Center to continue operating its rental truck business. The membership will then discuss and vote on these conditions. Please note that only paid BCA members are permitted to vote.
BCA also has invited Civic Federation alternate Bob Atkins to review information and preparations for the H1N1 flu epidemic.

W-L To Host Dec. 5 Annual Bazaar Washington-Lee High School will host its annual holiday bazaar on Saturday, 12/5/09, 10 am to 4 pm. Free admission. Shop for jewelry, holiday gifts, collectibles and hand-made items and purchase ethnic foods. Entertainment will be provided. The address is 1301 N. Stafford Street.
