Hello everybody !
I am a new user od Blue Griffon, arriving straight from Frontpage
which I unfortunately lost while changing over from XP to Win 7.
I am a very basic user: all I do is adding one line of text on top of
o row, to make a link with pictures on a web site.
I always work with the visible page, I never fiddle with the coes ...
With Frontpage, once the link was established, i used to change its
colour and suppress the underlining.
With Blue Griffon, I have no access to the colour ...
What should I do?
Thanks for any help!

I'm asking the same question. I select a word of text and try to
change its colour, font or size in the CSS-style panel. But not only
the selected word changes but a whole paragraph or a random amount of
text around the selection.

Same here. It also applies to font size changes. Generally you have to
have actual experience and knowledge about CSS to do ANYTHING in Blue
Griffon.

Well, the idea is to separate formating and content. You attach formating to a class in CSS, and you attach the class to an element in HTML. Suppose you want a few words in a paragraph to appear in a special way, different from the rest of the text. You would enclose those words in a SPAN, then select the SPAN, then attach a class name to the SPAN. You can then apply all the styles you want to that class. The procedure to create a SPAN, select it, and apply a class to is is described in a previous post: http://groups.google.com/group/bluegriffon/browse_thread/thread/49e5137fbb1b1c83/4ae9877b38d344c7?lnk=gst&q=insert+a+span#4ae9877b38d344c7

Hi

BlueGriffon is still a bit clunky, especially for beginners. It's
sophisticated in many ways but not all the interface basics are
available yet - no quick inline colour setting, no removing unwanted
toolbars etc.

In the meantime for basic inline setting of colour you need to:
1. Select the text
2. Click on the Panels > Style Panel menu option
3. Set 'Apply styles to' at the top to 'this element through inline
styles'
4. Click on 'Colors' to open it up
5. Click on Foreground or Background and set your colour

Cheers.
