Hi,

I notice that it has been mentioned before in this group that the HTML5 doctype should get the charset meta tag and not the http-equiv one. I wonder if this is work in progress and else if there is any chance that the HTML5 doctype will get by default the charset meta tag?

In HTML5, the correct compact syntax is

<meta content="text/html; charset=UTF-8" http-equiv="Content-Type">

This is what BlueGriffon adds by default.
