Hi,

I tried to insert a video via the "insert video" dialog, but without success.

I can choose a video, but the OK button remains greyed out.

How does the dialog work?

BG 1.5.2 @  mac os x 10.8

The OK button becomes enabled if the video file loaded has a format
valid for the <video> tag in Gecko's implementation.

I find the same difficulty for me. Impossible to insert a video that is in my computer files. This file is in the local website, so that this video will be then transfered to my distant website. I select it in the directory and the button remains absolutely grey.

I tried with a lot of formats: mp4, avi, wmv, flv...
No one works.

About the valid formats, no detail is indicated in your tutorial. Which are valid?

So how to do?
Thanks
Alain

When Daniel says "a format valid for the <video> tag in Gecko's
implementation", he's talking about the two formats Theora(Ogg) and
WebM(vp8). Indeed those formats are recognized by BlueGriffon and
allow a preview.

Unfortunately, embedding video in a cross-platform way is still a
complicated matter. You need to provide several formats (mp4, webm),
and provide a fallback using some Flash player.

Have a look at http://diveintohtml5.info/video.html for the full info.

An excellent player is this one: http://mediaelementjs.com/

Good luck,
Manuel
