Hello fellow babywearers,

This month's outing will be on Tuesday, May 25th at Cove Spring Park
in Frankfort. Cove Spring Park has several short hiking trails, a
picnic area, and a stream and beautiful waterfall. We will meet at the
picnic area at 10:30 and choose our trail. Please pack a picnic so
that we can relax by the stream for a bit after our walk. Feel free to
reply to me directly if you plan to attend, and I will give you my
cell number in case you need to call along the way.

I hope to see everyone there!

Hi Becca,
My name is Stephenie and I'd be new to the group, new to babywearing actually. I would love to join you ladies but I'd like to get a little more info first.

I am 27 weeks pregnant and I plan to try to babywear. I also have a 4 year old and 9 year old, my 4 year old would be coming with me but obviously I don't wear him. :) I carry him sometimes but only when necessary. :O) I just wanted to ask how your outings are, since I don't have a small child should I even bother to come or should I wait till I have a little one?  I want to get a ring sling. :) They are a little pricier than I was expecting. I'll keep looking though. :) I think this is such a great idea and concept. I let both of my babies sleep with me (my 4 year old is still struggling to get out of our bed) :)

Just let me know, I'd love to join you ladies. Joy from my church let me know about you all and Mother Nurture.

Take care!
Stephenie Thomas

Hi Stephenie,
I won't be at the outing this week, because my 2nd baby is just 2 weeks old, and we aren't quite ready for hiking yet, but I know you'll be welcome if you decide to come, and your kids would definitely be welcome too! Kids of any age are always welcome at our meetings, as (of course) are expectant parents.

I also wanted to put in my 2 cents on where to get good, inexpensive slings. I've just ordered a ring sling from Sleeping Baby Productions (http://www.sleepingbaby.net/). They have a very good reputation among the babywearing community at large, and I hear they are of excellent quality, and very comfortable. They are also extremely affordable (between $27 and $85 depending on the fabric you choose, with most of them falling toward the lower end of the price range). I'm super psyched about it, because (although I've said about a million times that I don't recommend ringslings as a newborn carrier) a ringsling is what I've been wanting most to carry my tiny one, and I really don't like the ones I have now. I think I'm going to have to change my tune on ringslings for newborns and say that they are great, you just have to know how to use them.

I hope you can make it to the outing this week, and I hope to meet you soon!
