Transmission speed problem

Hello,
I am using bluecove library for transmitting bytes to a HC-05 Bluetooth module. Sending 1500 bytes takes a few seconds.
On the other hand, transmitting over COM port assigned to bluetooth module takes less than a second. This delay is critical for my application.
Why can't I reach the same speed?
My stream connection string is similar to 'btspp://98D331206EF5:1;authenticate=false;encrypt=false;master=true'.
Can it be a configuration issue?
