I have an opportunity to buy a CA18DET for cheap, but it's FWD.
Does anyone know if the bellhousing bolt pattern is the same for FWD as RWD?
I've searched but couldn't come up with a definite answer.

Rear Wheel Drive, the way God intended.
If a car is being pulled from the front, doesn't that mean it's being towed?

I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.

It's a swapped Pulsar NX with a JDM pulsar or bluebird CA18DET.
The car is trash, but the swap is all there.
I'm just wondering if a RWD trans will bolt up.

This is a good question. Some bellhousing are the same, FWD to RWD, like the QR25. I suspect rhere are others.

I do know the SR20 FWD and RWD are different.

Try looking up the factory part numbers for the FWD and RWD  CA18 blocks to see if they are the same. Or maybe the sandwich plate that goes between the engine and transmission.
