Related – years ago when I was running the VG30DE (so, 1998 or so) I took Red to the Oregon DEQ station because at the time I was concerned about exceeding the noise limit. They decided while they were at it they’d measure tailpipe emissions. With no cats and no EGR it was still far cleaner than allowable limits, in some areas is was 1/10th the limit, lol.

Wondering why CHP is involved at all? Purchased out of state or? I have never been asked for such info registering multiple 510s in CA over the years, most recent was 2019. Might be worth joining AAA if he's not a member and register it through them. Or try another DMV office.
Ca dmv/chp is saying my dad needs an emissions sticker to register is. CHP says if we can just send them a picture with the correct year (1971), they'll process is. Any help is appreciated. He's near Auburn, is the 510 keeper still around?Matt Lovell
