tht may be the one side of it............but i dont understand where ACM is going with the concept of "Software Freedom Day".......

if at all there are any ppl out there who are a member of ACM, BITS-Pilani chapter pls note this.
Open Source Freedom is not about having freedom of using pirated software, its not about being able to roam around freely under the skies in Counter Strike...

I really dint get the point of your poster which has been put up.....here is a copy of that which i recieved on IPMsgr. I may not be a <guru> on Open Source, but i atleast can bet that, playing counter strike for 24hrs non-stop is no way "Experiencing the True Spirit of Freedom".

cheers

This is very funny... Counter Strike under the title of "ACM" and
"Free Software Day" the concept just SUCKS. This is as weard as
Microsoft funding a Linux conference.

I too agree! This is in no way related to the brilliant idea known as
Open Source... This idea itself is freaky... I hope the concerned
people are reading this, and stop doing this NOW. I wish BLUC had
taken an initiative in preventing crap like this from happening,
before it happened...

Okay, I like flamewars too.

And Prateek, I know you aren't cranky. n00bs at heart have a penchant for using that word. You know, you're just like Hitler.

Reductio ad Hitlerium! This thread is now officially inconsequential and dead!
