Big strings: Oracle CLOB

We are faced with the problem of maintaining large strings( in our
situation: with Oracle)...
We did decide use CLOB...
But which type we should use for property in entity? Now - it's
String.
Could you check this situation for both drivers: ODP.NET & MS Oracle
DP?

Please, report to me about your point of view, because it's critical
issue.
