Facing Down Facebook and Chatting About Snapchat
Dr. David Bickham of Children’s Hospital
Save the date: Tuesday, March 27, 6:30 pm
If your teen’s preoccupation with digital media is driving you crazy, this is the event for you. Young people can’t seem to live without online apps; the mechanical beeps and whistles distract them during homework, interrupt family meals and interfere with safe driving. But teens love their devices and the ways they allow them to connect with friends and explore the world. What’s the happy medium? Dr. Bickham will review academic and medical research to find out what makes this technology so attractive to adolescents. He’ll also give advice on how teens and families can craft solutions that balance teen needs with adult sanity. This event is open to students and adults and could be a great first step in helping your family come up with a workable compromise. Come at 6:30 pm for refreshments and a chance to meet other parents before the talk.
