We are launching an exciting new startup initiative in India –  Microsoft Accelerator for Windows Azure.

 

The first of its kind to be launched by a technology company in India, the Microsoft Accelerator will incubate ten select early stage startups doing big things in the Cloud, Internet and Mobile. Microsoft will engage deeply with them for 4 months in an intensive, mentor led program, to help accelerate their business and product roadmaps, and provide:

•          State-of-the-art workspace

•          Strong, focused mentorship from Industry leaders

•          Deep technology help from Microsoft and Industry mentors

•          Access to third party business advisory services                                                              

•          Introduction to key Venture Capitalists and Angel Investors

•          Global Networking opportunity with startups and mentors – including India, China, Israel and the U.S.

•          Access to Microsoft products, tools and Cloud platform through Microsoft BizSpark and Bizspark Plus programs

•          Demo Day to showcase companies to the World!

 

The Accelerator will be located in a Microsoft office on Lavelle Road in Bangalore.

 

Timeline:

•          May 23, 2012:             Open for Application

•          July 1, 2012:                Deadline for Application

•          Sep 3, 2012:                Program Starts

•          Jan 5, 2013:                 Demo Day

 

Microsoft Accelerator for Windows Azure has been recently rolled out in Tel Aviv, Seattle and Beijing and is attracting high potential startups in these countries as well. We believe this initiative will provide a major boost to the startup ecosystem in India and create some big lighthouse companies. These will hopefully be the shining North stars of Indian entrepreneurism, and exciting examples for budding startups in India.

 

The Accelerator is ideal for any exciting startup that can leverage the Cloud, and either wants to take a prototype and build out a product, or turn a product into a successful business. Please visit the website for more information, and do encourage all interesting startups to apply.
