I've got too much on my plate at the moment to take up any sort of
side work but thought I'd throw this out to whoever can use some.

I have a friend who has a few small PHP projects (month-long type
things if I recall correctly) that he needs a developer for.

Contact br...@sproutbox.com if you're interested.

I'm always looking for people who might want to engage in fun side
projects as a hobby
or something that could potentially be open sourced or evolve into a
side business. Because
of time constraints and existing commitments, it's difficult to commit
to any sort of timeframe.
"When it's done, it's done." In other words, I code when a) Wall
Street doesn't expect me to
be working, b) my wife doesn't expect me to be paying attention to
her, and my c) baby is
asleep. Which leaves very little time left. But my current side gig
isn't demanding as much
attention as it used to, which leaves me with some time to pursue new
interests.

The emphasis would be on fun. I don't need freelance work and I'm not
particularly interested
in adding minor features to an existing webapps (which is what Brad is
likely after), but I'm
always interested in building something new and cool, particularly if
it involves technologies
outside my current comfort zone.

That includes non-PHP ideas/concepts/art projects as well, such as
iPhone apps, C++ based
audio/visual generative art installations, Ruby or Scala based
webapps, or whatever.
But I don't like wasting my time either, so the idea should something
that will likely result in
a) $$$, b) something cool that results in people telling me how
awesome I am, which I am,
but I like to hear it, and I only hear it a few times a day, which
isn't nearly often enough,
and/or c) a cool open source project that the world was waiting for,
which I can delete from existence
a few years later, like _why did, when he erased his entire online
presence, and point and laugh as
the webizens who have grown dependent on my creation scramble around
like cockroaches with their
heads cut off wondering how they will keep the project alive without
me.

Or just something that a few random people would find useful that lets
me have an opportunity to play
with some tech I've been meaning to learn. (If I like those random
people.)

I have a few ideas, but if you have some Awesome Ideas of your own,
I'm always open to working
on those. Maybe my project should just be something that helps me
pick a single thing to focus on.
Like a DecideAlready! for one.
