unit testing

so I was wondering how many people in the group already write unit
tests for their work. also for how long.

the reason I'm asking is I'm considering doing workshops on testing
and want to know what skill level we should hit. granted, there's
other logistics to be considered such as time and space. I know I met
someone who volunteered space. I'll try to dig up that contact info
and see about that. However, if you any of you have any leads on a
space, please let me know.

I only know the very basics. I had a brief exposure to JUnit in college. I have since written a few tests in PHPUnit but could really start from the beginning.

I would be starting at the beginning.  Very unlikely that I would attend though, due to distance and travel limitations.
