See announcement below.  Any objections to me setting the K9IU C module to auto-connect to REF038C for the hamvention (thur through sun)??  As always, it can be disconnected by any user and used elsewhere.

Dayton Hamvention D-STAR
D-Extra 38C, D-Plus 38C, Simplex & Group Pictures

Lorain County Ohio –The Northern Ohio Digital Interconnect Group, in conjunction with the Dayton Hamvention, will be providing D-STAR users globally the use of D-Extra X-Reflector 038C and D-Plus Reflector 038C for Hamvention activities.

All systems, repeaters & users normally connected to NODIG assets are encouraged to begin migration to the C modules on Thursday morning, 5/16/2013. All systems normally connected via the 905 hub are asked to connect directly to XRF038C.

Any repeater, DVAP, hotspot, dongle or individual user wishing to link to the reflectors may do so as the systems are open for all to use. The systems, D-Extra & D-Plus, will run in parallel and not be linked.

A D-STAR simplex gathering point has also been planned for this year. 446.1000 With a Digital Code, CSQL, of 13. NODIG, OWDN and some DARA members will monitor this frequency.

A group D-STAR picture will be taken once on Friday and again on Saturday for all D-STAR users at Hara Arena. We invite everyone involved at any level of D-STAR to join in. Time and location to be announced.

As in previous years the Ohio Wide D-STAR Net will run the Sunday of Hamvention at its normal time of 8:01 PM EST on XRF038C. Not its normal A port. After the net all NODIG assets will return to their normal allocations.

Please throw your call out during the course of Hamvention. Everyone whether in Dayton or around the world can join in. Many will be listening and it will provide a great opportunity to showcase the abilities of the system and D-STAR to those not familiar with the mode or amateur radio in general.
