MetLife Foundation Partners in Arts Education Grant
Application Deadline: May 20
MetLife Foundation and the National Guild for Community Arts Education
announce the renewal of the MetLife Foundation Partners in Arts
Education Program, a national initiative that aims to improve teaching
and learning in the arts by supporting and promoting sustainable
partnerships between community arts education organizations and public
schools. Grants of up to $20,000 will be awarded to support arts
education partnerships during the 2011-2012 school year. Application
guidelines and program details are available on the National Guild's
website. Grants are available in 32 cities and metropolitan areas, as
listed in the guidelines.


New application guidelines and instructions for the National Endowment
for the Arts FY 2012 Grants for Arts Projects are available on
NEA.gov. Grant categories include:
Challenge America Fast-Track
Application Deadline: May 26
To support projects that extend the reach of the arts to underserved
populations. Grants are for $10,000.


Art Works
Application Deadline: August 11
To support the creation of art that meets the highest standards of
excellence, public engagement with diverse and excellent art, lifelong
learning in the arts, and the strengthening of communities through the
arts. Within these areas, innovative projects are strongly encouraged.
An organization may request a grant amount from $10,000 to $100,000.


The Creative Capital | Warhol Foundation Arts Writers Grant Program
Application Deadline: June 8
The Creative Capital | Warhol Foundation Arts Writers Grant Program
supports individual writers whose work addresses contemporary visual
art through grants in the following categories: articles, blogs,
books, new and alternative media, and short-form writing. Grants range
from $3,000 to $50,000 depending on the needs and scope of the
project. Designed to encourage and reward writing about contemporary
art that is rigorous, passionate, eloquent and precise, as well as to
create a broader audience for arts writing, the Arts Writers Grant
Program aims to strengthen the field as a whole and to ensure that
critical writing remains a valued mode of engaging the visual arts.


Professional Development Program: Workshop Subsidy Grants
Application Deadline: June 17
Creative Capital will be offering new Workshop Subsidy Grants through
its Professional Development Program, which helps artists to manage
the business side of their art with greater efficiency and results.
Thanks to the generous support of the Kresge Foundation, funding for
Workshop Subsidy Grants is earmarked to increase the diversity of
participating artists. Organizations can apply for grants to offer
these workshops to artists for a significantly reduced fee. Subsidies
ranging from $3,000 to $10,000 are available for a limited number of
workshops in planning, internet, and verbal communications, as well as
a workshop in Spanish, to be held in 2012. Full details including
