The following Meteor Cloud/Galaxy APM guide gives a great overview of how to find slow wait times and use this.unblock to free them up and improve the overall response times for methods and publications.

Looks like this topic has been discussed for a long time in the community. I wanted to include a reference to another discussion I found on this topic with a cool approach from @robfallows for making publications unblock without an added package.

There is no this.unblock() for publications. However, if you have many publications and they take a long time to set up, you can set them up asynchronously, which may help. Try this pattern for each publication:

Using unblock in methods seems to work fine, but be cautious with using it in publications. I tried this and realized that it causes Meteor to invalidate and resend all publication data every time you change the input parameters. Without unblock, it will only send the deltas. For my geospatial app, this caused a huge performance degradation. Your mileage might vary.

BTW: You can easily verify my statements using Meteor Dev Tools. Subscribe to a publication with a lot of documents and then change the input parameters, so only a fraction of the documents would have to be deleted or added. Without unblock, you will only receive the deltas. With unblock, all documents will be deleted and re-added afterwards. Which can cause lots of unnecessary data transfer and waiting time. In my app (which is geospatial), it made the map display unusable.

but this must be done each reboot. It also must be done before I even attempt to start a netctl profile, otherwise stopping the profile and unblocking the soft/hard switches doesn't allow a connection afterwards. The only way (it seems) is to run in order the "rfkill" command followed by a "netctl start profile" command.

In this case, if you still need the ip command as well, you'll have to customize anyway, but you should be able to enable the unblock service and use a drop-in configuration file to add the ordering dependencies. Create dir /etc/systemd/system/rfkill-...@all.service.d (assuming this also works for instances of template units) and put ordering.conf in there with a [Unit] section containing lines such as Before=netctl.service, and a [Service] section with ExecStartPost=/usr/sbin/ip ....

The question needs to be asked though, why was this even necessary to enable the soft unblock? One would think that the default should be to have your wireless switched on by default if present, as it has been for every other network connection method in Arch prior to this? This was more difficult to solve than it should have been!

There are 2 ways to solve your issue:
1 (simple). Use netctl's "RFKill=" option (see man netctl.profile).
2 (hard). Use rfkill-unblock@.service ordered _before_ netctl@.service. Notice, instead of "all". Using the latter is not necessary unless you want to unblock bluetooth, GPS, FM radio, etc.

Hey Chris -- It's February 20th (2022) and this is still not working for me as it previously did (pre-Covid). Is your experience any different? i.e. Has AirBNB fixed this or have you found a workaround to manually override (unblock) dates that were previously auto-blocked due to "Preparation Time"?

I do hope AirBNB fix this issue and if anyone has any suggestions I'd love to hear them! In my case I have a one large property (for which I need preparation time) and I also have 2 smaller lodges which are linked to the listing for the larger property. The lodges can also be rented separately and don't need preparation time. When a guest books all linked properties I ended up with dates blocked in the smaller lodges at the beginning/end of the rental period which could otherwise be rented. I would like to be able manually unblock the preparation time on my smaller lodges, however as described in the previous posts it doesn't seem possible. I can't take the risk of removing the blocking function.

I brought the issue to Airbnb as well. The only "solution" they provided was to remove the prep time setting. That can be very risky. We know the ability to unblock days exists, they just chose to not let us do it. It's frustrating when they take this ability away for some unknown reason, yet claim hosts are in control of their calendar.....

I am trying to access a website but am currently met with "Error - site blocked" although I know the site is safe an regularly use it, I have tried accessing the site and looking for the icon that pops out and right clicking it, but the icon does not appear. I just want to unblock the site, nothing more.

I have a portal-agol collaboration where manual sync works, but schedule sync remains in a blocked state with no apparant way to unblock it. Pausing and resuming does not work, changing the schedule does not work, in fact, changing every single setting only results in BLOCKED. Blowing away the workspace or the partnership is not an option.

We are experiencing the same issue since 7/20/2023 after our scheduled sync got stuck "in progress" state. I followed the steps in the ArcGIS blog to troubleshoot, but the schedule has remained "blocked." The blog unfortunately does not include the method for how to unblock schedule. We also have the portal to AGOL collaboration (copy option). I also did the same thing (pause/resume) as well as deleting the schedule and re-setting the schedule to no avail (for unblocking). At least the manual sync is currently working. If someone was successful unblocking schedule, we would like to know the method, too.

In the past, when this "blocked" schedule happened, sometimes the "blocked" state went away by itself without doing anything. (It is not happening this time.) We also asked our GIS administrator to reboot the server in the past, and it worked to "unblock" schedule at that time, too. (This time our GIS admin suggests that we open a ticket with esri.)

I've done some looking around online and other people are having the same problem. It must be new because I remember an 'unblock' button. I want to share my playlists with my friend and I can't until there's an option to unblock. I feel like the ability to block someone should be accompanied with the ability to unblock.

If you've contacted our Customer Support team to block a user, the process cannot be undone or reverted. However, if the blockage was made by yourself on the Spotify app, you can unblock that user.

You can do this by going to that user's profile in the mobile app, hitting the 3-dot menu, and selecting the option Unblock. After unblocked, the system will give you a pop-up notification confirming it.

Hello, this profile was blocked by me, however, I would like to unblock it, for my activity and playlists to become available to it again, however, the unblock button does not appear, only appearing the button written "block", that when pressed only appears pop-up to confirm the blocking, not occurring the unblocking at any time. Well, I ask for help, thank you in advance. The profile I want to unblock =98143b7f30fd4b76.
the profile I want to unblock =98143b7f30fd4b76.

If you're seeing the block option in the menu that might mean that you've already unblocked the user. Can you please both log out and back in a couple of times and ask the user to check if they see your playlists?

I have the same problem. I accidentally blocked my friend and now I can't follow her back. I never saw an unblock button it always showed me a block and follow button. When I try to follow her on my phone it follows for a split second then goes back to "follow" and on the PC the follow button won't even work. she still can't see my profile, so I am pretty sure she is still blocked. It has been like this for almost a month, and we both logged in and out thousands of times.

If you are unable to unblock a friend on a particular platform, it is best to check the platform's help center or contact customer support for assistance. They may be able to help you unblock your friend or provide more information on the issue. Additionally, you can try logging out and logging back in to see if that resolves the issue.

I was blocked by a ebay seller few weeks ago. I didnt do anything wrong, just asked him some questions on the item. I like to buy some items from his listing but I cant now. So how do I get him to unblock me? I cant contact him in ebay. No contact info whatsoever in his listing.

I've got a user who erroneously blocked a contact in Teams and is now unable to unblock the user via Settings > Privacy > Managed blocked people. This happens in both the Teams desktop and web-clients. They can click on the Unblock button next to the person's name, however they get the error "We can't unblock this person at the moment. Try again later."

Hey there,
I uploaded some videos of a concert and shared it with the group. The video is large (10GB), and so I got blocked from Dropbox. Is there any chance to unblock the block? Is it working after 24h again? Or do I have to do something? (Fyi: I don't have the upgrade to 2TB and don't want it ...)
Thanks for your help!

I'm using Ubuntu 12.04 on HP ProBook 4520s with Broadcom 4313 wireless. I have a "toggle wifi" button that is not recognized by Linux and does not work. However if I plug a network cable and turn the PC off then Ubuntu somehow forgets about the wifi and next time I boot the wireless is hard-blocked. The wifi button does not work so there's no way to unblock it :(

I have created a firewall rule in Symantec Endpoint server to block all apps from getting Internet access except the ones I allow. I have put the allowed ones on top of the generic "Block All" rule. Seems to be working ok, but unfortunately it seems to have blocked the Endpoint client as well. How do I unblock the client?
