blogger tabs with a link list....need help

here is my blog: missprovencio.blogspot.com

my tabs (under header) are designed with the new template designer.

here is what i want to do:
1. be able to center the tabs so i don't have to add more tabs and
make the font larger just so it appears to be centered.
2. make the background color one solid color, no gradient.

HMMM the tabs are now centered. but your blog is a little heavy
(images/scripts). Try to optimize the pix in Photoshop.

i changed a few of the photos that are on the homepage but are the photos from images that are on other posts effecting the load time as well?
