Duringher and Gunter's performance of "Shake It Off", she wears a black, long sleeved sparkly leotard. Said costume has pointed ears and sports a long feather train on the back. She also wears black heels with her costume.
She is also a skilled engineer, able to build, in just one night, multiple elaborate contraptions that do her housework and care for her family, even when she's not around. Her mechanical skills are implied at the beginning of the movie when Norman asks her to fix their sink.
Rosita yearns to be more than just a devoted mom to her twenty-five piglets. She rarely has a second to herself, so she finds her moments of freedom intersect with this passion for music. Rosita is also shown to be caring and supportive to the other performers, as she and Gunter, cheer Ash up after Lance cheated on her. Before she and Gunter go on stage to practice, Rosita also offers Ash her purse, which contains gum. She also allows Johnny to practice before her, and apologizes to him when Gunter prevents him from doing so.
Having given up her teenage dreams in pursuing a career in music, Rosita is a loving mother to her twenty-five children and devoted wife to her overworked husband Norman. She works as a stay-at-home mom, handling all the cooking, cleaning, and a majority of the child-rearing. While Rosita loves her family, she feels she's in a rut and wants to be more than just a wife and mother, her love of singing persisting. Her family also does not recognize her talent; her kids tease her when she sings and her husband is too tired most of the time to notice her.
Rosita's yearning comes to a head when she comes across a flyer for a singing competition hosted by Buster Moon, and she decides to audition. She sings Katy Perry's "Firework" for her audition, and she successfully earns a slot in the competition. Buster states that although she "Has a good set of pipes" she is also "boring to watch," so she is partnered up with the excitable Gunter. Rosita returns home excited and eager to share her experience with her family, but her children are too unruly and Norman is too tired to listen. In order to attend auditions while taking care of her family, Rosita constructs a vast Rube-Goldberg device to do her usual routine. The newly automated housework is unnoticed by everyone.
Working with Gunter is initially rocky, as Rosita is hesitant to dance without using printed instructions. While trying to dance during their rehearsal of Taylor Swift's "Shake It Off", she falls on her face almost immediately after the song begins. Rosita thinks she won't be able to let loose like Gunter, telling that the fire died out a long time ago, and glumly quits. However, while grocery shopping, she freely and passionately dances to "Bambolo" by the Gipsy Kings. This gives her the confidence to return to rehearsals the next day, much to Gunter's delight. However, on the day of Nana Noodleman's rehearsal her contraption at home goes awry, and after she returns home following the Moon Theater's destruction, she finds her children and Norman hanging on the clothing line after her homemade babysitting machine malfunctioned. She returns to the Moon Theater to help fix the stage, leaving Norman to take care of the children. On the night of the show, she smiles at the sight of Norman trying to control the kids. Rosita and Gunter are the first to perform. They sing and dance to "Shake it Off", and while the audience at first laughs at its cheesiness they are shocked when, Rosita and Gunter change into matching sparkly black costumes and put on a great performance. Rosita and Gunter's performance is met with applause, and Rosita's children run up onstage to congratulate her. Norman, completely blown away, follows them, and romantically kisses his wife as the curtains close. At the end of the movie, Rosita, and her family attend the grand reopening of Moon Theater with the other characters.
Rosita has fun with her piglets at an ice rink while "Sleigh Ride" plays. After Gunter switches the music track with his holiday-themed dance remix of "Groove Is in the Heart", he encourages Rosita to dance, only for her to fall on the ice. However, her children and the squids swimming underneath form the shape of a heart around her. At the end, she and the kids pose with the rest of the Sing cast.
Pre-Show In order to stall for time, Mizuki introduces the audience to Rosita, who is practicing her dance routine for Buster Moon's upcoming show. Rosita accepts the impromptu interview, but is interrupted by her piglets, made extra-hyper by Norman's candy. Gunter is impressed by one child's dance moves and decides to incorporate them into the routine, but Rosita points out that they'd be changing it at the last minute. She then follows her piglets as they excitedly rush out of the room. When Buster is finally ready to start the show, Rosita's kids rush in front of him, Rosita following close behind.
Rosita is an anthropomorphic pig. She has peach-pink skin with darker pink freckles on her face. She also has slightly floppy ears, green eyes, and three pointed fingers on each hand. Usually, she wears a pink short-sleeved shirt with white buttons, blue pants, and black slip-on shoes. When going to bed, she wears a purple shirt and black shorts (which are her pajamas). During her and Gunter's performance of "Shake It Off", she changes into a sparkly black leotard with pointed ears and a long feather train on the back. She also wears black heels with this costume.
Rosita is a devoted wife to her husband Norman and loving mother to 25 piglets. Despite her genuine love for her family, Rosita feels overwhelmed with her responsibilities and longs to be more than a stay-at-home mother. This in combination with her deep passion for singing, causes Rosita to join Buster Moon's singing competition without her family's knowledge.
Rosita's motherly and sweetness compassion extends to her fellow contestants. When Ash has a breakdown during rehearsal over her breakup with Lance, Rosita comforts the porcupine and allows her to have any gum or candy she finds in her purse. Rosita also allows Johnny to practice before her, and apologizes when Gunter prevents the gorilla from doing so. She even was friendly towrds Mike and showed happiness for him when he sang "My Way" even smiling in joy.
Rosita is introduced doing kitchen chores and singing "Firework" while her children eat breakfast at the table. One rowdy piglet mockingly imitates her, leading her to ask Norman to tell them what a great singer she is. Norman, in a hurry to get to work, distractedly tells Rosita she's great and that the bathroom sink is blocked again. Rosita looks out the kitchen window at the family's hanging clothes, feeling stuck in a rut.
That night, flyers advertising Buster Moon's singing competition are scattered across town, one hitting Rosita and Norman's kitchen window as she's washing the dishes. The next day, Rosita sends her children off to school, and makes the decision to audition at the Moon Theater. She ultimately passes the audition due to her excellent voice, but Buster found her stage presence boring, and decides to compensate by pairing her with flamboyant pig Gunter. To manage her husband's and kids' needs while she's at the theater, Rosita constructs an elaborate Rube-Goldberg device to perform her usual housework.
During practice with Gunter, Rosita becomes discouraged by her inability to dance as well as him, despite following printed instructions. After falling on her face during a performance of "Shake It Off", Rosita gives up and leaves the Moon Theater, to Gunter's disappointment. While grocery shopping, Rosita hears "Bambolo" playing over the intercom and spontaneously bursts into dance. A security guard watching applauds Rosita, giving her the confidence to return to rehearsals. However, during a special rehearsal for Nana Noodleman, three bears who were cheated out of money by contestant Mike trespass the theater; the resulting confrontation begins a chain of events that destroys the building. Meanwhile, Rosita's device malfunctions, stranding Norman and the children on the clothesline for most of the day. Despite these disasters, Rosita is overjoyed when Buster decides that the show must go on, and helps build a stage in the ruins of the Moon Theater.
Rosita and Gunter serve as the opening act to Buster's open air concert, while Norman and the piglets sit in the audience. The two pigs perform "Shake It Off", their singing and choreography amazing the crowd. At the end of the song, the Rosita and Norman's children rush onstage to congratulate their mother. Norman himself follows behind and gives his wife a passionate kiss as the curtain closes. At the end of the movie, Rosita and her family attend the grand opening of the New Moon Theater with the other performers.
Rosita is participating with her costars in the Alice in Wonderland musical while trying to impress a talents scout named Suki Lane who's looking for performers for the Crystal Theater at Redshore City. Buster convinces his friends they can still live their dream in Redshore City after a road trip where they entertain the tourist on the bus, they made it to Redshore. After managing to sneak in for an appointment slot with Jimmy Crystal, CEO of Crystal Entertainment, Gunter unexpectedly blurts out a theater play that features retired rock star Clay Calloway, which allowed Crystal to accept.
For the show "Out of this World," Rosita was given the starring role as the lead astronaut with Gunter as her robot partner. She greets Norman and their kids arrived at Redshore. During production, Rosita is too afraid to practice a stunt she must do in the show revealing that she has her fear of heights. Buster reluctantly gives her role to Crystal's daughter, Porsha, after a talk with Crystal. Rosita believes that it was for the best. However, she's heartbroken at this and took time alone to get over it even when Norman checks up on her. Buster gives Rosita a different role of playing a green alien.
