First of all, he wanted the title to be decided not on how many points the driver has, but on how many races they have won in the season. So if a driver wins say 5 races and comes dead last in every other race but no other driver gets 5 wins, then he is "the champion" but a driver who has come 1st, 2nd & 3rd practically in every race who would have had more points gets fuck all - sorry Bernie, don't agree with that one and neither did FOTA (Formula One Teams Association). What they have agreed on is that the driver who comes 1st now gets 15 points instead of 10, 2nd gets 10 instead of 8, 3rd 8 instead of 6 & so on.

Then Berniw in his wisdom comes out with the idea of devising a "lottery" to decide where drivers would start on the grid. So what's wrong with the current qualifying shootout, Bernie?

The best one he's now come out with is this: Drivers will be able to use shortcuts 5 times during the race to overtake the opposition.

Mr Ecclestone wants all the circuits to build shortcuts into the track where the drivers will be able to in effect cheat legally because all the drivers will not be driving the alloted distance of the race if a driver doesn't use all 5 opportunities to use the shortcuts. Half of the challenge in F1 is to overtake the car in front of you - why make it easier? Some people do say that F1 is a train of cars due to the lack of overtaking but I feel the driver would feel a lot more better in himself if he gained the position fairly instead of having to use a specially made shortcut because he was unable to do so on the main lap.

So, Bernie - NOOOOOO! Leave our tracks the way they are (especially Silverstone)! In fact, just leave everything alone! If it's not broken, stop trying to fix it!
