Hi Scott

I am currently in process of moving my current blogcfc build 5.9.6.005
to a new VPS (Windows 2k3 32bit -> Windows 2008 R2 64 bit) and in that
process I want to upgrade to the latest build which I downloaded. I
will be running it on CF9. Can you direct me in the steps to take.

Current database is a MySQL 5.x UTF8 format

I have uploaded the latest build to our VPS but that is about it. I
have not taken any steps other than uploading the new build and create
a empty database with a user and a DSN in CF9.

Regards

The process is to find your version in readme.txt, and then read
upwards. FOr each release, we talk about what files were modified and
include any special instructions.

Hello Ray,

Did not know you still find the time to nurture your brain child.
Anyway glad you still do.

I read the readme.txt yet it does not say directly what to do if you
have a database and you want to import the data and start fresh with
the latest build.

The assumption for database stuff is this:

If a change requires a new column, or table, or a change, then it is documented.

If you do NOT see that, then your db is fine as is.

Thanks Raymond for the straightforward advice as always.

I get right into it.
