500 - Internal server error. Error Executing Database Query. Unknown column 'salt' in 'field list'

I happen to run into a little issue after manually installing the
latest build and mating it to my older v 5.9.6 database.

Unknown column 'salt' in 'field list'

What may I have overlooked. The blog is running on IIS7 with
Coldfusion 9 and a MySQL 5.x database. Regards

You need to add the salt column. If you look at the readme.txt file,
you will see one of the revisions where this was added. It was a
pretty important revision and has lots of notes around it, so I'd read
it carefully.

I did what you and the documentation suggested yet there is another hurdle.
 
I want to add pages and now this comes up.

    You need to add the table. It looks like you missed the directions detailing database changes. Please read the readme.txt again and look out for those changes.
