Giving this thread a push. We had this discussion two years back when Twitter was still a new thing. Following its success there were so many other micro blogging and medium blogging services that came up. Different people had different allegiance and they all had their own reasons for fancying one particular service over other, but did we all know that Twitter was to soon outshine all of them and become a modern day cyber revolution in its own sense??

I think I knew, that's the reason I never migrated from Twitter to Pownce or Plurk or Tumblr. What about you guys??

Did you migrate from Twitter to other brands and then came back to Twitter?

Let's talk about it.

Exactly my point Prashanth...if its micro blogging it gotta be simple no frills no fancy... That way even Pownce have good features but for me only twitter because of its simplicity...

one simple space to type ur content, and one click to publish...everything else fall in place on its own...but I hope they do something about the downtime pretty soon...its been really long it got screwed...

I didn't really know.. Nor did I care.. I remember that I used to try out this other Indian made Twitter look alike, and then I jumped to Twitter and stayed there.. Though of course, my position as a 'twitterer' might be put up for question, seeing that I'm no longer very into the community ;)

It is, though, pretty interesting to see how Twitter has evolved as a medium in itself. Also interesting it is to see how the other media try to make space for Twitter by including it in their own spaces, and making an interesting uh avial (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aviyal) out of it (@shashitharoor would know best ;)).
