Sounds superb that people have turned blogging into their profession. Just curious, the blogs you speak about aren't the good old "personal" rant blogs per say, right? It must be specific about technology, travel etc.?

I don't see how else you make it your profession. Are the returns even real enough for this? I stopped blogging cause I noticed how people moved to "Vlogs" and I really did not have a pretty face.

The new generation seems to be about micro blogging - twitter is so.. uhm, Meh. Instagram, snapchat and all the new weird ones tiktok whatever the hell that is.

I also continue .. but now my posts are few and far off in between. Most of what I used to write on my blog now gets expressed on twitter/instagram/FB etc.

But there's no doubt that the long form - blog - beats it all. The other means have a very shortlived life. And are also not under your own control.

Its been 13 years and I still blog. Its my second job now. 

Twitter, Facebook and instagram has made many of the old time bloggers to move away from blogging. Majority of the blogs which are still active are monetized or has a business model. Infact this is very good for people who have taken up blogging seriously.

Don't know about those topics but the key to monetise is to find out topics where people are asking questions, provide the answers in terms of blog posts, gain authority and start charging for your content.

I can't believe this group is still active and that I just saw the message, a year late. 

I still blog, but I started writing for some digital media platform and got paid for it. I wrote a book too. And I went on to become a political cannonball on Twitter. Commonly known as Librandu, Sickular, Congress troll, or Sanghi slayer. Lol. Times Now channel tried to label me "anti Hindu". I sort of sued them. And won. They were ordered to apologize. Some of you still follow me, rest of you not so sure. 

I miss Bangalore. Social media baffles me now. And I often wonder why I couldn't develop a business model for my social media influence.
