[Books and Stuff] First person versus Third person

What? This is the character's point of view. For example, I write my books, excluding Bad Dates, in first person. Everything is "I" or "me". Some people don't like it to the point they won't ever read a book in first person. Some people are more flexible. Some authors are more comfortable writing in third person versus first. I find first more intimate; however, everything is told from my heroine's viewpoint. A lot of chick lit and mysteries are written in first person.

So what are your thoughts?
