hi friends:

A request is to remove the word verification during Blog Hop as we have close to 30 odd bloggers to visit and the word verfiication takes too much time and sometimes we get logged out too. 

hope this word verification can be removed atleast till the period that BHW gets over very month (2 days in a month). Thanks

Good idea. But do you think you can help me.. even during 'non blog
hop' days i want to remove word verification. but i am not able to
figure it out. Not able to see that option. do you know where I can
find it :-)

Just follow the instruction...
Dashboard -click "Settings"-in that click "Comment" tab n below will be list of comment related options in that theres an option: "show word verification for comments" plz select "No" to remove it...Then finally click"save"
That's it...U r done !!

Thanks guys. I had the new blogger interface. that is why i did not
see this option. I switched to the old interface and checked. mine is
turned off. do let me know if you are getting Word verification in
mine if you get a chance.

By the by, if you are using the old blogger interface try switching to
the new one. I like a lot better than the old one

I also think the word verification is a pain. sometimes the words are
so long adn i cannot even figure it out. i hate sometimes when i have
to do it 2-3 times to get the comment in.

I have never had them at all as I find it a pain while commenting in the others sites. I sometimes find that I spend more time in going thru those stupid meaningless words than on the post itself.

What irks me the most is that having the word verification turned on when it is going to be published only after the owners approval. I have stopped visiting blogs where they sport word verification but those would be published only after the approval. I don't see the point at all. If it is going to be immediately published then there is a purpose in turning that on.

I have mentioned about it earlier too but still many refuse to take it seriously. Not just for BHW but in general as well.

Totally agree with everyone on the word verification. I am not sure if something changed recently, but there are two words and it has gotten even harder and time consuming. I do not have word verification and the spam always goes to the spam folder. No issues so far. 

It would also make commenting easier in general since everyone seems to be racing against time these days.
