Hi Everyone

Technology is exciting and I have been looking at Google hangouts as a solution to holding Linux group.  Even though we will still be having the normal group at my office, we will be broadcasting it out to the rest of the world via a hang out session.

If you have never been to a Linux group but want to catch the broadcast then please feel free to reply to this message.

My question is, what should we chat about on our first hang out session, looking forward to the responses.

As a start I will only be inviting people who respond on this message, based on demand we'll see about inviting the whole group regularly.  You will need to have a camera and mic to take part.

Yours sincerely

Andre

Hello Andre.

I will try to attend the session at your office tonight.  My ADSL router at home is a bit troublesome, so I need to replace it, but at the moment it will have to do.  So see you tonight, hopefully in time.

Regards,

Gerhard Smal.

Ideas proposed for this evening meeting:

1.       Remote desktop

2.       Installing Gnome or KDE over unity, e.g. Cinnamon

3.       VLC

4.       Disable shopping suggestions – understand scopes

5.       Clear root when full of old kernels / list disk space

6.       Ports to open when coming in from the internet – what dyndns to use – securing the box

7.       Etc.
